The boldest plaid for formal Highland wear. A piper's plaid (long plaid) is the long, pleated plaid worn over the left shoulder and down the back, secured with a plaid brooch.

This one is made in Rob Roy MacGregor tartan - the famous red and black buffalo check. Simple, striking, and instantly recognizable. Popular with pipe bands and for MacGregor clan members, and as a universal fashion tartan.

This is the LONG piper version, not the small fly plaid - gathered and stitched at the top for perfect shoulder pleating.
