Authentic Drum Major's Baldric Sash for The Gordon Highlanders - The 92nd Regiment of Foot. Heavily embroidered regimental cross belt sash with Gordon crest, Bydand motto, battle honours and Gordon tartan backing. Worn by Drum Majors and Pipe Majors on ceremonial full dress. Museum-quality hand embroidery...
The Gordon Highlanders Drum Major Baldric Sash - The Drum Major's Baldric Sash of The Gordon Highlanders is one of the most magnificent and ornate sashes in the British Army. Worn by the Drum Major and Pipe Major of the world-famous 92nd (Gordon Highlanders) Regiment of Foot - "The Gay Gordons".
Unlike the plain wool Sergeant's Sash, the Drum Major's Baldric is a heavily embroidered ceremonial cross-belt, worn from the left shoulder to the right hip, designed to carry the mace and to display the full heritage of the regiment on parade.
This is a heritage piece that preserves the legacy of the Gordons, who fought from the Napoleonic Wars to both World Wars. Now part of The Highlanders, 4th Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland (4 SCOTS).

The motto "Bydand" means "Steadfast" or "Abiding" - a perfect motto for this magnificent, enduring sash.
